Go for a run and raise money for human rights!

Are you entering this year’s Melbourne Marathon Festival on 14 October? The event includes not just the marathon but a half marathon, 10km and 5km runs and a 3km walk.

Monash University has kindly helped us to create a fundraising page that allows your friends to sponsor you, with all money raised going towards the Castan Centre’s policy programs.

If you’d like to support us, it’s very simple – you just need to follow these steps:

  1. Register for the event at the Melbourne Marathon website.
  2. Go to the Monash University fundraising page on Everday Hero, click “Start Fundraising” and fill in your details.
  3. When you’ve done that, click “join an existing team”,  search for “Castan Centre” and then choose the team.

That’s it!

When you are filling in your details under step two, you can share the story about why you’re raising money for the Castan Centre. Here’s something that you can use:

I’m raising money for the Castan Centre because they are a strong, principled voice for children with disabilities, asylum seekers, the LGBTQI community, Indigenous Australians, prisoners and more. When they propose stronger human rights laws to empower our most vulnerable people, politicians on all sides listen.

If you would like any help with registering, just contact our office on 03 9905 3327 or castan.centre@monash.edu. Good luck to all participants!
